Competition winner, Liam Peck
Liam Peck, 35, from Wellingborough, is the lucky winner of a brand new i-Pad, after taking part in an on-line survey designed to find out local people’s views about the Stanton Cross development.
Bovis Homes, the main developer behind Stanton Cross, conducted the Wellingborough wide survey to ascertain awareness of the scheme and discover how people find out what’s going on in the local area.
Of the 201 residents who took part in the survey 46% knew that Stanton Cross was a development to the east of Wellingborough’s train
When the scheme and its associated benefits were explained to those surveyed, 74% believed Stanton Cross would be good for Wellingborough, while 13% were undecided and 13% were of the opinion it would not be good for the area.
The survey also revealed that residents felt the best thing about Wellingborough was its sense of community (33%), accessibility of shops, amenities, transport and proximity to other urban centres (28%) and free parking (10%).
When residents were asked what they would change about Wellingborough, 39% said that the retail offering needed improvement, while 16% said that the town’s appearance was ‘run down’ and in need of change. The need to upgrade road and train infrastructure was the third most frequent response with 12%.
